Hey there! So, guess what? Local students in Yuma, Arizona are totally rocking Red Ribbon Week! They’re all about promoting a drug-free lifestyle and standing up against drug abuse. How awesome is that?
The students at Kofa High School (KHS) decided to get in on the action by organizing a super cool event during lunchtime. The Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) program, part of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) at KHS, took charge of the event.
Now, get this: the Kofa Welding CTE class actually made a huge red metal ribbon for everyone to sign and pledge to be drug-free. Talk about making a statement! It’s like a symbol of their commitment to living a healthy life.
One of the students, Venezia Garcia Marquez, who’s studying Medical Assisting, said that promoting a healthy lifestyle is super important. And you know what? She’s absolutely right! Students listen to other students, so it’s awesome that they’re taking the lead in spreading the word.
At the event, they had tables set up with red balloons, cool informational handouts, and even some music to set the mood. They wanted to get other students excited about Red Ribbon Week and encourage them to learn more about it. And of course, they wanted everyone to sign that awesome metal ribbon.
Kiley Mackell, a Biomedical Technology teacher, couldn’t be prouder of the students. She said that having conversations about drugs can be tough, but these students are brave enough to tackle the topic head-on. Way to go!
So, let’s give a big shoutout to these amazing students for standing up against drugs and promoting a drug-free lifestyle. They’re making a real difference in their school and community. Keep up the awesome work, guys!
