Hey folks! Exciting news from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (MIT REAP)! They just announced the launch of their tenth cohort of the Global program. This time, they’re focusing on five awesome regions that are ready to supercharge innovation-driven entrepreneurship. Let’s dive in and see what’s happening!
The regions that made the cut for MIT REAP’s Cohort 10 are Guatemala, Java (Indonesia), Palestine, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), and Suriname. These senior leaders from each region will be participating in a two-year program that aims to accelerate innovation-driven entrepreneurship in their local ecosystems.
So, what exactly does this program entail? Well, the teams will start by conducting a thorough assessment of their innovation and entrepreneurship capacity. This will help them identify their strengths and weaknesses and lay the foundation for their acceleration strategy. The strategy will be based on the unique advantages of each region and will be designed to propel their ecosystem forward.
But that’s not all! The teams will also be working on implementing new programs or policies that will drive their ecosystem’s growth. They’ll be following MIT REAP’s Innovation Ecosystem Stakeholder Model, which brings together representatives from universities, governments, corporations, risk capital, and entrepreneurs. By collaborating with stakeholders from these five major groups, the teams will be able to make a real impact on their local innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
And here’s the best part – the MIT REAP teams won’t be going at it alone. They’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with other regions within their Cohort, as well as tap into the knowledge and experience of the program’s alumni community. With over 80 participating regions and a decade of influence, this community is a goldmine of insights and connections.
Professor Fiona Murray, MIT REAP Faculty Co-Director and all-around superstar, highlighted the importance of the program’s approach. She emphasized the need to understand each region’s unique history and goals in order to create effective pathways for innovation and entrepreneurship. By working closely with the MIT REAP faculty, the teams will be able to tailor their strategies to their specific capacities and opportunities for growth.
This tenth cohort of MIT REAP is a major milestone for the program. To celebrate, they recently held the inaugural MIT REAP Impact Summit in Cambridge. It was a fantastic event that showcased the program’s global influence over the past decade.
