The Speciality & Fine Food Fair recently took place at Kensington Olympia, showcasing the newest and most exciting artisanal food and drink products. From alcoholic teas to flavoured cheeses, there were plenty of standout items at this year’s fair. Dom Richardson, the founder of Whistler’s Storm, discussed the growing trends in tea drinking and alcohol that influenced the creation of his three alcoholic teas. Initially unsure about the market for a tea-based product, Richardson discovered that people love both tea, especially loose-leaf tea, and alcohol. This led to the development of Whistler’s Storm alcoholic teas with a lower ABV strength of 20% volume. Other highlights included British Wagyu from Freedown Hills, sweet and savoury popcorn from Maize and Grace and Joe, and a variety of new flavoured cheeses from across the UK. The Cheshire Cheese Company showcased their latest product launch, the ‘Masala’ cheese featuring mango, chutney, and nigella seeds. Vegan chocolate brand PlayIn Choc shared their partnership with the Sea Life Trust, while Fudge Kitchen unveiled their new plastic-free packaging. Additionally, Food Manufacture highlighted some spooky new product developments in anticipation of Halloween 2023.
