Yamaha has just announced the release of the all-new 2024 Yamaha MT-09, a middleweight Hyper Naked motorcycle that is set to redefine performance. With its sleek restyled design, improved technology, and added convenience features, the 2024 MT-09 is sure to impress motorcycle enthusiasts.

Originally known as the FZ-09 in the United States, the MT-09 made its debut in 2013 and quickly became a popular choice among riders. As the first Hyper Naked motorcycle inspired by the Dark Side of Japan design concept, the MT-09 has always stood out with its unique aesthetic and thrilling performance.

The 2024 MT-09 retains the winning formula of its predecessor, combining Yamaha’s renowned 890cc DOHC inline Triple engine with a lightweight aluminum frame and top-of-the-line electronics package. However, it also introduces a range of exciting new features to enhance the overall riding experience.

One of the standout updates is the MT-09’s new design, which emphasizes raw power and agility. The bike features a redesigned LED headlight, a more compact fuel tank, and a sleek tail section. These changes not only enhance the bike’s aggressive look but also contribute to a more engaging ride.

In terms of ergonomics, the 2024 MT-09 offers improved rider comfort and control. The handlebar position is now lower and adjustable, allowing riders to find their ideal riding position. The footrests have also been redesigned and moved slightly rearward for added comfort. Additionally, the new two-part seat design provides increased freedom of movement.

The 2024 MT-09 comes equipped with a larger five-inch TFT display, offering a full-color experience and smartphone connectivity. Riders can connect their smartphones to the bike using Yamaha’s Y-Connect app, allowing them to receive call and message notifications directly on the display. The app also provides turn-by-turn navigation, making each journey easier and more convenient.

Yamaha has also introduced customizable ride modes with the Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) settings. Riders can now select their preferred engine power characteristics and electronic intervention levels to suit their riding style or road conditions. The bike comes with three integrated riding modes: SPORT, STREET, and RAIN. Additionally, riders can create two custom programs with personalized settings.

The 2024 MT-09 boasts an impressive array of advanced electronics, including the new Back Slip Regulator (BSR). This feature uses engine RPM and wheel speed data to reduce rear wheel lock-up during engine braking, providing better control in low-grip situations. The bike also features acoustic amplifier grilles on top of the fuel tank, enhancing the distinctive sound of the crossplane Triple engine.

Other notable upgrades include a new Brembo radial master cylinder for improved braking performance, a third-generation Quick Shift System (QSS) for clutchless upshifts and downshifts, and revised suspension settings for a more controlled ride. The bike also comes with cruise control, self-canceling turn signals, and adjustable brake and clutch levers.

The 2024 Yamaha MT-09 will be available in Team Yamaha Blue, Midnight Cyan, and Matte Raven Black. It is set to arrive at dealerships in March 2024 with a starting price of $10,599.

With its bold design, enhanced technology, and thrilling performance, the 2024 MT-09 is a true game-changer in the world of Hyper Naked motorcycles. Yamaha has once again raised the bar and delivered a bike that is sure to excite riders everywhere.
