Revolutionary Collaboration Saves Electronic Devices from Landfill

1 min read

A new tech solution is helping save over a million electronic devices from ending up in landfill. Lombard, Rigby Capital, and SCC have joined forces to offer businesses an as-a-service solution that aims to improve the efficiency of their IT estate while reducing the environmental impact of disposing and refreshing electronic devices. Electronic waste is a growing problem, with only 20% of the 50 million tonnes produced each year being recycled. Without action, this amount will double by 2050. Through this collaboration, businesses can invest in and install the necessary hardware and software, manage services, and track the recycling and reuse of their devices. This solution also provides flexibility and simplicity under a single contract. Lombard’s Managing Director, Ian Isaac, believes this initiative will prevent at least a million devices from becoming landfill over the next five years. Rigby Capital’s Managing Director, Simon Everidge, highlights the importance of end-of-life asset management and the commitment to supporting the ESG agenda.
