Deutsche Bank has just completed a deal to finance Taiwan’s largest offshore wind project, Hai Long. This wind farm will provide electricity to over 1 million households in Taiwan, helping the country achieve its goal of constructing 5.7 GW of offshore wind farms by 2025. The project is being developed by Northland Power Inc and Mitsui & Co, and is expected to cost around $6.5 billion. Deutsche Bank has a strong track record in financing renewable energy projects in Taiwan, and has already financed nearly 3 GW of wind power capacity for the country. Cynthia Chan, Deutsche Bank’s CEO for Taiwan, expressed pride in the bank’s role in Taiwan’s transition to renewable energy.
