A Magical Winter Experience at Tiger Yard’s Winter Wunder-Yard

I recently went curling at Tiger Yard in Cardiff and it was so much fun! Tiger Yard, which is a permanent food court in Cardiff Bay, has transformed into a winter wonderland called Winter Wunder-Yard for the festive season. They have ten lanes of dry ice curling, new seasonal specials, and guest traders offering their take on classic festive foods. I went to the launch night and it was amazing.

When I walked into Tiger Yard, I instantly felt the Christmas spirit. The place was beautifully decorated with foliage, fairy lights, wreaths, Christmas trees, and cosy chalets. They even have a Santa’s grotto! It was such a magical atmosphere.

One of the highlights of the Winter Wunder-Yard is the dry ice curling. It costs just £10 per person for an hour and it’s a really fun activity for all ages. I’m not the best at curling, but I still had a blast playing with just one other person. I’m definitely going to book it again and play with my family and friends.

The food at Tiger Yard is absolutely delicious. They have four regular traders – Fire and Flank, Terry’s Tacos, Meating Point, and Dirty Bird – and they all have special seasonal dishes on offer. I tried the smashed beef pattie taco from Terry’s Tacos and it was amazing. The beef burger patties topped with American cheese, lettuce, gherkins, and Frazzles crisps were a great twist on a classic cheeseburger.

There are also guest traders at Tiger Yard this month. Million Dollar Gravy and Cracklin & Pwdin are bringing their festive menus to the yard. I tried the roasted chicken-loaded roasties from Million Dollar Gravy and they were delicious. The chicken was so tender and the roast potatoes with cheese on top were a perfect combination.

For dessert, Cardiff Dough and co have a selection of mouthwatering doughnuts. I tried the lemon, the Homer, Biscoff, and caramel custard doughnuts. My favorite was definitely the caramel custard doughnut. The soft dough topped with caramel icing and filled with custard was heavenly.

Tiger Yard’s Winter Wunder-Yard is the perfect place to spend time with family, friends, or even for a date night. You can book the dry ice curling, but even if you don’t, it’s still a great place to enjoy delicious food, listen to good music, and get into the festive spirit. The Winter Wunder-Yard is open on Fridays from 5pm – 11pm, Saturdays from 12pm – 11pm, and Sundays from 12pm – 6pm, from November 3rd to December 23rd. Don’t miss out on this festive experience!
