Refurbed Raises €54m in Funding to Expand Sustainable Technology Marketplace

Refurbed, an online marketplace for refurbished technology, has successfully closed a €54 million fundraising round as it looks to expand its business. The company, which has been operating in Ireland since 2021, expects to achieve profitability in the country later this year. The Series C investment round was led by Evli Growth Partners and C4 Group, with participation from All Iron Venture and Speedinvest. Co-founder Peter Windischhofer expressed his excitement about the investment, highlighting the growing recognition of the circular economy as a lucrative opportunity. Refurbed plans to use the funds to expand its product offering and become the leading platform for sustainable products and services. In addition to mobile devices, the company has already expanded into laptops, games consoles, and household technology. It also intends to enter new categories such as sports, potentially including electric bikes. Refurbed aims to achieve profitability as a whole next year, but it has already reached this milestone in its original launch markets of Austria and Germany. The company is pleased with its progress in the Irish market and plans to continue investing. Refurbed has gained popularity through word of mouth, with Irish consumers showing a strong preference for its products.
