Hey there, let’s talk about the Samsung AI Forum 2023 Day 2! It was all about the cool stuff happening in the world of generative AI. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. hosted this awesome event, and it was all about the future of generative AI. The forum brought together AI experts from the industry and academia to chat about the latest trends in AI technology. They even introduced Samsung Gauss, which is a super cool generative AI model developed by Samsung Research.
Daehyun Kim, the Executive Vice President of the Samsung Research Global AI Center, gave a welcoming speech and said they’re all about supporting and collaborating with the industry and academia on generative AI research. How cool is that?
In the morning, Dr. Hyung Won Chung from OpenAI talked about large language models (LLMs) and the challenges they face. Then Jason Wei from OpenAI discussed how LLMs will drive a paradigm shift in AI. And let’s not forget about Professor Hongsuck Seo from Korea University, who talked about multimodal AI technology that can process different types of data at the same time. That’s some seriously cool stuff!
In the afternoon, graduate students from top universities presented their research papers on AI. They talked about efficient code generation, spatial reasoning technology, and fine-grained evaluation capability in language models. They even presented text-to-image generation technology, which is mind-blowing!
The final session was all about Samsung Gauss and the On-Device AI technologies using this model. They have Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code, and Samsung Gauss Image. These models are named after Carl Friedrich Gauss, the legendary mathematician. Samsung Gauss Language can help with tasks like composing emails and translating content, while Samsung Gauss Code is great for software development. And Samsung Gauss Image can easily generate and edit creative images. How awesome is that?
Samsung Gauss is currently used to boost employee productivity, but it’s going to be used in Samsung products soon to give users a whole new experience. And get this, Samsung is not just developing AI technologies, they’re also making sure AI is used safely. They’ve got the AI Red Team to keep an eye on security and privacy issues. That’s some responsible AI development right there!
Oh, and did you hear? Samsung is backing Busan’s bid for the World Expo 2030. How cool is that?
