Ted Dobek, founder of Circuit Coffee, Sheila Coon, founder of Hot Oven Cookies, and Bob Lowry, owner of Bueno Y Sano, captivated the audience with their journey of turning business ideas into thriving operations.

Bob Lowry, the mastermind behind Bueno Y Sano, shared how a simple burrito he had on Nantucket Island sparked the idea of opening a burrito shop in Amherst. With determination and a $20,000 loan from his dad, Lowry brought his vision to life. Today, Bueno Y Sano has seven locations in Massachusetts and one in South Burlington, Vermont. Sheila Coon, the creative force behind Hot Oven Cookies, took an unconventional path to entrepreneurship. After finding herself in a homeless shelter with her three children, Coon was determined to create a company that provided stability and flexibility. Today, Hot Oven Cookies boasts over 1,000 varieties and is on the brink of retail distribution. Coon’s passion for breaking the generational poverty cycle and creating opportunities for single parents is the driving force behind her business.

Ted Dobek, a Westfield State alum, founded Circuit Coffee to bring quality coffee to the heart of Westfield. Dobek’s dedication to managing his business and his commitment to the local community have been instrumental in the success of Circuit Coffee.
