guess what? A cool Mexican-inspired quick-service restaurant called Zambrero has just opened its first site in Birmingham! It’s located at unit 5 Colmore Row, part of The Grand, and they’ve signed a 10-year lease with the landlord, Hortons’ Estate. This means that all the retail space on the block is now fully let.
Zambrero, founded in 2005 by Dr Sam Prince, is all about putting a modern twist on Mexican classics like burritos, bowls, nachos, and tacos. And get this, they’ve got over 250 restaurants worldwide, and they’re growing in England too.
But here’s the really awesome part – through their Plate 4 Plate initiative, Zambrero donates a meal to someone in need for every burrito or bowl they sell. Can you believe it? They’ve already given away more than 72 million meals around the world. That’s seriously impressive!
The Grand is a mixed-use scheme with shops and bars on the ground floor, and Zambrero is joining other cool places like Gusto, The Alchemist, and 200 Degrees Coffee. It’s a happening spot!
Nina Meeks from Hortons is super stoked about Zambrero choosing The Grand Birmingham for their first outlet in the region. And Emily Teh, the UK CEO of Zambrero, is totally pumped about being in the heart of Birmingham. She’s all about bringing modern Mexican food to Colmore Row and getting the local community involved in their mission to end world hunger through the Plate 4 Plate initiative.
So, if you’re in Birmingham, make sure to swing by Zambrero for some awesome Mexican eats and show your support for their amazing cause!
