This decision was made subsequent to the visit of the founder, Nigel Draper, to Moshi in Tanzania, where he acquired a profound understanding of the difficulties faced by families in accessing high-quality food supplies and indispensable support services such as education and healthcare.

Throughout his visit, Nigel offered his services at Soweto Primary School and observed first-hand the crucial role the school plays in providing meals to children who may lack access to food at home. In response to this issue, Sorsco has pledged £3,000 to support the school, which will facilitate the provision of over 1400 meals daily and cover the educational expenses of more than 700 children. Moreover, the senior leadership team of the company has committed to providing both time and resources to assist those in developing countries on an annual basis.

Nigel Draper articulated his motivation for supporting the village by stating, “My trip to Tanzania was truly enlightening and unveiled a completely distinct aspect of the food supply chain and logistics. The school plays a crucial role in feeding the children, the majority of whom lack access to food at home. Our pledge to supply food and drink for the remainder of the year will ensure that all children receive two meals per day at school. We are also in the process of establishing a permanent fundraiser to provide continuous support to the children.”
