KPMG Australia has recently announced the appointment of Tim Robinson as the new partner-in-charge for its Technology Consulting business, effective from the beginning of 2024. With a wealth of experience and a solid track record in the field, Robinson will be stepping into this pivotal role to lead a team of 1,200 technology and business specialists, taking over from Richard Marrison, who has been promoted to a regional position.
Robinson, who has accumulated over 20 years of experience, has successfully managed numerous complex transformation programs and has demonstrated a keen understanding of ensuring that the deployment of technology is closely aligned with business objectives. His tenure at KPMG as a partner in the technology advisory business spans over seven years, following the acquisition of Markets IT, a technology business he founded back in 2011.
In his new capacity, Robinson will be tasked with further enhancing the firm’s leadership in critical areas of business transformation and providing support to clients with large technology-related projects. His role will also involve a sharp focus on advancing the firm’s initiatives in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, and strengthening KPMG’s collaboration with its major alliance partners.
Paul Howes, KPMG Australia’s National Managing Partner, Consulting, shared his enthusiasm about Robinson’s upcoming leadership role, expressing, “We are delighted to have Tim step up to lead our technology consulting business and help more Australian organisations to successfully unlock the power of tech.” He continued, “Beyond his technical know-how, Tim is a business founder and leader who is hugely respected amongst his team, clients, and industry peers. We also congratulate Richard on his promotion to a senior regional role at KPMG, having steered the tech team here for ten years.”
In response to his new appointment, Tim Robinson conveyed his excitement towards the prospect of further developing the firm’s capabilities amidst the “fourth industrial revolution”. He emphasized the significance of the team’s diverse blend of youthful vitality and seasoned industry experience, highlighting their crucial role in guiding KPMG’s clients towards successful implementation of new technology solutions in the future.
“For years, our team has been the driving force behind our clients moving onto cloud-based systems, and that work will continue, but it is the first step in a wider evolution,” Robinson stated. “We are well positioned to give our clients the right advice and help them implement new solutions such as AI well into the future.”
With his extensive background and strategic vision, Tim Robinson’s appointment is poised to bring about a positive and transformative impact, further solidifying KPMG Australia’s position as a leader in the realm of technology consulting. His leadership and expertise are certain to pave the way for continued innovation and success within the firm’s technology practice.
