Exploring the Path to Business Success: St Philomena College Hosts Inspirational Entrepreneurship Workshop

St Philomena College has garnered attention in the academic sphere following the successful execution of a workshop titled ‘Entrepreneurship as an Innovation Engine’ for MCom students. The event, held on December 8 at the college’s PG seminar hall, was a collaborative effort between the Institution’s Innovation Council and the PG department of commerce.

The workshop was graced by the esteemed presence of the college’s principal, Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, who delivered an inspiring inaugural address. He emphasised the significance of identifying and harnessing one’s ‘X Factor’ – a distinctive quality or innovation that distinguishes individuals and ventures from the competition. Dr Monteiro urged the students to introspect and identify their ‘X Factor’, motivating them to pursue their passions with dedication and excellence.

A noteworthy aspect of the workshop was the involvement of Suhas Marike, the respected proprietor of Marike’s Organics, who served as the resource person for the event. Marike eloquently elaborated on entrepreneurship as an innovation engine, providing invaluable insights to the participants and igniting a renewed enthusiasm for the realm of business. He delved into the intricate dynamics of business, demand, and supply, while emphasizing the importance of the subtle ‘X Factor’ that sets successful entrepreneurs apart. The event commenced with a heartfelt prayer led by Shreeraga and Hamsanandini, followed by a warm welcome extended by Pooja. Pooja S Rai eloquently delivered the vote of thanks, and the programme was skillfully compered by Sowmyashree S R. Notable figures such as Harshith R, coordinator of the PG department of commerce, and Prithvi, assistant professor in the department, were also in attendance, providing their support and expertise to ensure the success of the event.
