In a retrospective analysis of the advancements in pharmaceutical formulation technology, Nikko Chemicals expresses gratitude to the esteemed researcher, Mr. Kingo Uji, for his exceptional contributions. Mr. Uji was honoured as the recipient of the 29th “The Master of Pharmaceutical Technology” award by The Academy of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Japan, in recognition of his significant impact on the field of pharmaceutical formulations.
One noteworthy aspect of Mr. Uji’s contributions is his background in the raw material industry, underscoring the depth of his accomplishments. His expertise in formulating quasi-pharmaceutical products and external-use medicines has been evident during his tenure at Nikko Chemicals.
As a lecturer at Nikko Chemicals’ Open Laboratory, Mr. Uji has played a pivotal role in imparting knowledge and expertise to over 2,000 researchers, both domestically and internationally. His lasting legacy includes numerous contributions through lectures and seminars at The Academy of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Japan, and the Japan Society of Pharmaceutical Machinery and Engineering.

The strategic merger between Nikko Chemicals and Cosmos Technical Center Co., Ltd. in April 2022 marked a significant turning point, ushering in an era of integrated sales and research and development. This collaborative venture introduced a comprehensive business unit organizational system, encompassing the Personal Care Business Unit, the Pharmaceutical Business Unit, the Chemical Business Unit, and the Innovative Business Planning Division.
The Pharmaceuticals Business Unit, drawing upon years of expertise in colloid chemistry and skin science technology, continued to offer high-quality raw materials for the external drug market, with a vision to share this wealth of knowledge with other pharmaceutical businesses and foster collaboration to create new value in the industry.
