Upon examining the endeavors undertaken to promote the advancement of women entrepreneurs, it is truly inspiring to observe the collaborative efforts of various organizations in establishing a more inclusive and sustainable environment for women to engage in economic opportunities.
Norlela binti Suhailee, the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Director at Darussalam Enterprise (DARe), expressed her optimism during the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) 3rd Batch Graduation Ceremony on Thursday. She articulated the positive shift in the business landscape, illuminating the emergence of a new generation of women entrepreneurs who are revolutionizing traditional business models with innovative and creative ideas.
Norlela emphasized the importance of acknowledging women-owned businesses, highlighting the government’s recent formal definition of such enterprises. This formal definition solidifies the vital role that women entrepreneurs play in the economy and grants them access to specific support programs tailored to their unique needs.
Reflecting on AWE’s journey, Norlela accentuated the academy’s role in nurturing the talents and ideas of women entrepreneurs. She underscored the diverse range of businesses that have benefited from the program, including ventures in confectionery, digital marketing, and various other industries.
She also highlighted the international participation of women entrepreneurs from Brunei at the AWE Summit 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and the AWE Indo-Pacific Women in Tech Summit in Taiwan. These events showcased the potential of women entrepreneurs in driving sustainable businesses and promoting digital innovation.
Norlela also shared the achievements of DARe in supporting and training women entrepreneurs, with a significant number of applicants and program graduates. She encouraged aspiring women entrepreneurs to take advantage of DARe’s suite of support services to aid in their entrepreneurial journey.
The program, launched in October 2021, aims to provide women entrepreneurs with access to resources, foster a supportive community, and facilitate the exchange of information and experiences.
In conclusion, the increasing presence and success of women entrepreneurs are a testament to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. The continual support and empowerment of women in entrepreneurship will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and diversification of the business landscape.
