Sarawak’s Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Datuk Sebastian Ting, has issued a plea to private enterprises to assume a more active role in the organization of entrepreneurship seminars and workshops. These events play a critical role in inspiring individuals to explore the realm of business and create opportunities for themselves.
At the Entrepreneurship Workshop on Vending Machine, held at a hotel in Miri, Ting underscored the necessity for the business sector to offer support and guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs. He emphasized the immense value of these workshops to the community, particularly for those interested in ventures such as the increasingly popular vending machine business.
Ting, represented by Councillor Arles Leong, emphasized that initiating a business entails not only personal success but also the creation of sustainable livelihoods to support families. He commended private enterprises like F&J Smart Marketing Global Sdn Bhd, Goldmind Evolution Sdn Bhd, and Borneo MA Smart Vendors Sdn Bhd (BMAS) for their efforts in organizing the workshop, which attracted 230 participants from across the state.
Andenson Dato, the director of BMAS, expounded on the workshop’s objective, which aligns with the government’s initiative to promote entrepreneurship. The goal is to equip individuals with the requisite knowledge and skills to enter the vending machine business, which can serve as a source of passive income.
Dato also disclosed BMAS’s plans to expand its market to Pontianak in Indonesia in the upcoming year, showing the industry’s potential for growth and opportunities.
In conclusion, the appeal for private companies to contribute to the cultivation of entrepreneurship is vital for the growth and advancement of the business sector. These endeavors are pivotal in providing individuals with the guidance and resources needed to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations. It is imperative for companies to continue supporting such activities, and for aspiring entrepreneurs to fully capitalize on the opportunities presented to them.
