Hungary’s Rába Vehicle and Nurol Makina Hungary, the local unit of Turkish defense industry company Nurol Makina, have announced the setup of a joint venture called Gidran Armored Vehicles. The signed documents on Monday mark the necessary steps for the establishment of this joint venture, as announced by Rába Automotive Holding.

The two companies previously outlined the details of their cooperation in a memorandum of understanding signed in October. The primary objective of the joint venture is to develop assembly and production capacities for 4×4 Gidran armored vehicles in Hungary at the RABA group, with the aim of achieving the “greatest possible” domestic added value and Hungarian content, primarily for the Hungarian Defense Forces.

The JV agreement was signed by Rába Automotive Holding, Nurol Makina, Hungary’s N7 Holding National Defence Industry Innovation Company, and the Ministry of Defense.
