Cheltenham-based company Spirax-Sarco Engineering has officially announced the selection of Louisa Burdett as its new chief financial officer and executive director. Burdett is scheduled to take on her new role in July 2024, following the transition of Nimesh Patel to the position of group chief executive on January 16, 2024. During the interim period, Phil Scott will serve as the chief financial officer beginning in January 2024.
Burdett brings a wealth of experience in leading finance functions in major UK companies, including Meggitt, a leading aerospace firm, and Victrex, a prominent chemicals company. Her current role as CFO of Croda International Plc further underscores her financial expertise and leadership capabilities.
Jamie Pike, the chairman of Spirax Sarco, has expressed confidence in Burdett’s appointment, recognizing her exceptional track record in leading finance for UK-listed companies and her valuable non‐executive and sector experience. Patel has also praised Burdett’s insights and strong values, and expects her to enhance the strength and depth of the group. He eagerly anticipates working alongside Burdett and the executive leadership team to leverage their combined knowledge, capabilities, and energy in preparation for future opportunities.
Upon assuming her new role, Burdett will receive an annual salary of £550,000.
This appointment represents a significant milestone for Spirax-Sarco Engineering, positioning the company for sustained growth and success in the industry.
