The Delhi University Business School recently held a conference entitled ‘Empowering Change: Insights from Visionaries’ Social Entrepreneurship. This event, conducted in collaboration with Goonj and Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, featured Magsaysay Awardee Anshu Gupta, Founder of Goonj, and Marketing Guru Prof. Harsh Verma from FMS.
Taking place at the SP Jain Auditorium in South Campus, Delhi University, on December 23rd, 2023, the conference included Anshu Gupta and Prof. Harsh Verma as speakers, with Senior Journalist Mayank Singh serving as the moderator. The event was coordinated by executive MBA and Health Care Administration students from FMS.
Under the theme of “Empowering Change: Insights from Visionaries” Social Entrepreneurship, the panel aimed to bring together esteemed individuals from various fields to explore perspectives on Social Entrepreneurship, Business Start-up, and Business Management.
Anshu Gupta, a prominent figure in the social entrepreneurship sphere, shared his experiences and stories during the event. He emphasized the profound impact that social entrepreneurs have on changing the world, highlighting that the return on investment in the field of social entrepreneurship is maximum in terms of happiness and hope.
Prof. Dr. Harsh V Verma also provided valuable insights at the conference. He discussed how social entrepreneurship seeks to redefine progress by considering the well-being of people and the planet alongside profitability. Prof. Verma focused on the dynamic nature of social entrepreneurship and highlighted the importance of public partnerships in driving positive change in society.
The session was moderated by Mayank Singh, who underscored the importance of both micro and macro-level implementation of social entrepreneurship initiatives. The conference also featured Q&A sessions and concluded with a cloth donation initiative in association with Goonj and an organ donation awareness camp organized by NOTTO.
