Additionally, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has implemented stringent security mechanisms for Aadhaar-based fingerprint authentication to ensure robust security and thwart spoofing attempts. Furthermore, the UIDAI has endeavoured to provide free online document updates for Aadhaar, benefiting millions of residents.
In August 2023, the government greenlit the extension of the Digital India programme with a significant outlay to enhance digital infrastructure and empower citizens through technology.
