Boosting Local Brands: Entrepreneurs and Celebrities Unite in Carnival Extravaganza

The recent carnival in Batu Kawan showcased an innovative approach to promoting local brands. Rashidi Zinol, the Chairman of the Penang Trade, Entrepreneurial, and Rural Development Committee, emphasised the state government’s ongoing encouragement for young individuals to enter the entrepreneurial field. This underscores the vast potential held by this sector. The involvement of artists and influencers in such events is pivotal in providing opportunities for entrepreneurs to exhibit their products and strengthen their brand identity.

The support and organisation of large-scale carnivals serve as a significant meeting point for numerous young entrepreneurs. The three-day carnival brought together approximately 150 stalls featuring local entrepreneurs and celebrities from across the country, with 30% of participants being local entrepreneurs from Penang. The event aimed to attract 100,000 visitors and offered an exciting lineup of performances by renowned artists including Uqasha Senrose, Andi Bernadee, Luqman Podolski, Baby Shima, and Khai Bahar.
