The 2024 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme is presently open for nominations, and a resident of Donegal is urging aspiring entrepreneurs to participate. Business owners in Donegal are invited to submit their nominations until February 29, regardless of whether they are part of emerging, established, or international businesses. This year’s programme theme is ‘The Trailblazers’, which aims to recognize entrepreneurs who demonstrate the courage and ability to carve their own path and challenge conventional boundaries and limits.
According to EOY Alumni Michael McKinney, the Managing Director of Inishowen Engineering, the EY Entrepreneur of the Year programme offers a beneficial experience for participating entrepreneurs. Participants can gain valuable knowledge and create meaningful connections with business leaders from various industries. The alumni network provides ongoing support and expertise, making it a beneficial experience for any entrepreneur in Donegal considering participation.
The programme is excited to welcome nominations from entrepreneurs across Ireland, focusing on celebrating trailblazing individuals who are spearheading businesses contributing to the growth of Ireland’s economy and local communities. Entrepreneurs of all ages, industries, and locations are actively encouraged to apply, and 24 finalists will be selected to participate in a strategic growth programme over a 10-month period, including a CEO Retreat to South Africa.
The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Ireland programme represents more than 600 entrepreneurs in Ireland, whose businesses collectively employ over 250,000 people and generate revenues exceeding €23 billion. The awards are open to entrepreneurs from all sectors and growth stages in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, with three categories – Emerging, Established, and International – from which eight finalists will be chosen. Additionally, the Sustainability Award will be presented to acknowledge a finalist’s significant contribution towards environmental sustainability.
An independent judging panel, chaired by Harry Hughes CEO of Portwest, will select the 24 finalists, and the programme is supported by Premium Corporate Sponsor Julius Baer International, and Government sponsors Enterprise Ireland and Invest Northern Ireland. For entrepreneurs interested in the programme, nominations can be submitted online, and those nominating someone else must do so with the entrepreneur’s consent.
The exciting opportunity to join the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme is a chance for Donegal entrepreneurs to gain recognition, develop their skills, and connect with a network of successful business leaders. It’s an incredible opportunity for local businesses to be celebrated and to make a significant impact within Ireland’s entrepreneurial community.
