The Emerald Isle is once again summoning all innovative and forward-thinking entrepreneurs to submit their nominations for the 2024 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) programme. This prestigious initiative is open to entrepreneurs from a wide array of businesses operating across all industry sectors in Kilkenny. Whether you’re an emerging business leader, an established industry mogul, or an international trailblazer, this is your chance to shine. The nominations are open from now until February 29.
This year’s programme is embraced by the theme “The Trailblazers” – a nod to the courage, innovation, and pioneering spirit that define Ireland’s entrepreneurial landscape. These entrepreneurial trailblazers are the true architects of change, who boldly pave the way for their businesses, regardless of the challenges that lie ahead. They are constantly pushing the boundaries and limits of conventional thought, harnessing new technologies and market opportunities, and driving innovation to tackle some of the greatest challenges of our time.
One such trailblazer is Sam Moffett, the CEO and Founder of Moffett Automated Storage, and the Entrepreneur of the Year for 2023. Reflecting on his journey, Moffett emphasized the exceptional support and insight he received from the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year alumni: a community of over 600 renowned entrepreneurs from every sector in Ireland. Their collective wisdom, guidance, and first-hand experience with the triumphs and tribulations of running a business have been paramount to his success.
Roger Wallace, Partner Lead for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Ireland, expressed his eagerness to welcome entrepreneurs from across Ireland into the 2024 programme. The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year is now in its 27th year and continues to be a platform that champions, drives, and inspires entrepreneurship across the island. Noting the global impact of Irish entrepreneurs, Wallace underscored the program’s commitment to diversity, actively seeking nominations from entrepreneurs of all ages, backgrounds, and industries.
The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Sustainability Award, which recognises the significant contribution of businesses towards environmental sustainability, will be presented to one of the finalists. The 24 finalists chosen will engage in a strategic growth programme over 10 months, including a week-long CEO Retreat to South Africa, and will have the opportunity to become part of the esteemed alumni community.
The judging panel, chaired by Harry Hughes CEO of Portwest, will include former winners, and is a testament to the high regard and integrity of the programme. Supported by Premium Corporate Sponsor Julius Baer International, and Government sponsors Enterprise Ireland and Invest Northern Ireland, the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Ireland programme continues to be a pinnacle of entrepreneurial celebration and recognition.
