In a strategic move aimed at enhancing the education of future engineers and meeting the growing demand for automotive technologies, FPT has inaugurated the Automotive Software Engineering (ASE) department. This joint venture by FPT Automotive and FPT University seeks to cultivate high-caliber human resources for the expanding global automotive sector.
The ASE department at FPT University provides a comprehensive curriculum, encompassing fundamental automobile design principles and operations to a thorough understanding of electronic and software systems. Students will have the opportunity to acquire specialized skills in the design, development, and testing of software systems and embedded systems of automobiles, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and in-car environmental control systems, among others.
The program will be overseen by seasoned experts in automotive and embedded systems from FPT, and graduates will have the opportunity to engage in diverse projects with FPT Automotive’s international clientele.
The curriculum is structured in accordance with international standards and guidelines, including those of the United States Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Additionally, the program also takes into account international standards for functional safety in the automotive industry (ISO 26262) and automotive cybersecurity (ISO 21434).
Kinh Nguyen, CEO of FPT Automotive, underscored the significance of having professionals well-versed in both automotive engineering and digital technology in the rapidly evolving automotive industry. He emphasized FPT Automotive’s commitment to closely collaborate with FPT University to nurture the upcoming generation of automotive software engineers hailing from Vietnam.
