B.TECH, the prominent integrated omnichannel retailer and consumer finance platform in Egypt, has recently entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Carerha, a leading Ed-Tech platform. The primary aim of this partnership is to foster the roles of women and advocate for gender equality within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and entrepreneurship sectors.
The MoU was officially executed by Mohamed Khattab, Executive Vice President of b_labs and Digital Commerce at B.TECH, and Jessie Radwan, CEO of Carerha. This strategic collaboration is intended to provide essential support for the empowerment of women, particularly in Cairo, Alexandria, and Assiut, by equipping them with technical skills to take an active part in diversified work fields, specifically within ICT and entrepreneurship.
As part of the partnership, B.TECH will impart its expertise in e-commerce through a series of workshops during the training period and will also contribute to designing the curriculum for the program. In addition, B.TECH will give preference to employing program graduates, thus aligning with the company’s strategic objective of positively and sustainably impacting the development of Egypt’s community.
On the subject of the MoU, Mohamed Khattab affirmed, “We are dedicated to supporting and empowering women across various fields, particularly within the realm of ICT and entrepreneurship, to foster environments that foster equal opportunities for all.” Furthermore, he stressed the significance of expanding partnerships with both local and international institutions in order to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Jessie Radwan, CEO of Carerha, also expressed delight in collaborating with B.TECH to empower more women to enter the ICT workforce. She highlighted the synergy of their efforts in bridging the gap within the ICT and entrepreneurship field in Egypt, with a focus on enhancing the role of working women in society and achieving inclusive participation in the labor market.
The MoU serves as an extension of the fruitful strategic partnership between B.TECH and Carerha, with B.TECH also serving as the gold sponsor of the Carerha Summit 2023. The summit, which took place in October under the theme “Relaunch Her,” concentrated on improving work-life balance and fostering diversity and inclusion within the workplace. With a specific focus on women in technology, entrepreneurship, and workforce trends in 2023, the summit attracted 5,000 attendees and played a significant role in promoting women’s participation in these fields.
B.TECH stands as Egypt’s leading integrated omni-channel retailer and consumer finance platform, boasting a robust network of over 170 stores across the country. The company is renowned for providing unique financing solutions to its customers and has experienced rapid growth within the consumer electronics retail sector. Carerha, on the other hand, is an Ed-Tech platform that economically empowers women and fosters inclusive workplaces, making this partnership a noteworthy step towards empowering women within the ICT and entrepreneurship sectors.
In conclusion, the collaboration between B.TECH and Carerha represents a positive stride towards gender inclusivity and the empowerment of women within the tech industry. With a focus on providing technical skills and cultivating diverse and inclusive workplaces, this partnership aligns with B.TECH’s commitment to supporting women’s roles and advocating for gender equality in Egypt.
