In an exemplary demonstration of entrepreneurial skill, eight distinguished women from the Dos Laredos Region were celebrated for their innovative business endeavors. The Mexican Consulate and MileOne collaborated to host an awards ceremony, recognising these enterprising individuals who had participated in the Consul Entrepreneurship program for Mexican Women Abroad.
This program, aimed at providing Mexican-American women with essential resources and tools to support business growth, conducted a series of workshops to empower these entrepreneurs. The event, held at MileOne, acknowledged these eight exceptional women, each of whom received a computer generously provided by Coca Cola SouthWest Beverages, in addition to cash prizes and a MileOne membership.
Earning the top position was Juana Valazquez, who received a cash prize of $1,500 and a six-month membership to access MileOne facilities. Following closely in second place was Gloria López, recipient of a $1,000 cash prize and a three-month membership at MileOne. Alma Camarena, the visionary behind “Funeraria: Memories of the Soul,” secured the third place and was awarded $600 in recognition of her exceptional achievement.
Furthermore, other program winners included Blanca Mora, the founder of “Morgar Creations,” and Paula Solís, who introduced her project “Planning Magical Adventures.” Damaris Terrazas, the proprietor of Bibi’s Boutique, Leslie Treviño, the head of Alpha Solutions, and Sofia Turrubiates with her initiative “Recreational stay for the elderly” were also acknowledged for their remarkable contributions.
These women have demonstrated exceptional drive and determination, and their accomplishments warrant celebration. The recognition they have received serves as a testament to their unwavering commitment to business excellence and innovation.
