Mid Ulster Business Shine in Northern Ireland Health and Fitness Awards

Two businesses based in Mid Ulster have received nominations for the esteemed Health and Fitness Awards in Northern Ireland. These awards, which have been in existence since 2018, aim to acknowledge excellence in the fitness industry, encompassing personal trainers, gyms, and health and fitness-based businesses.

This year has seen a notable surge in the number of entries from businesses operating within the fitness industry, indicating a significant growth in both popularity and competitiveness within the field. With a total of 21 categories to choose from, businesses have ample opportunities to demonstrate their expertise and unwavering commitment to health and fitness.

The local businesses that have been selected as finalists in the awards are The Mummy Physios located in Moneymore, in the categories of Health & Fitness Service of the Year and Pilates Class of the Year, and PFP based in Cookstown, which has been nominated for Gym of the Year. These businesses have showcased outstanding dedication to the health and well-being of their clients, earning them well-deserved recognition within the industry.

The judging panel for this year’s Awards comprises esteemed experts in the fitness industry, including online fitness expert and long-standing judge, Ian Young, as well as diabetic muscle and fitness author, podcaster, and educator, Phil Graham. Also returning to the panel is last year’s female personal trainer of the year, Natasha Daryaie, kick-boxing legend and founder of ProKick Gym, Billy Murray, and health and fitness award winner and owner of Bubba’s Project Gym, Bubba Ali. The addition of captain of the Northern Ireland Women’s Football team and Cliftonville Ladies, Marissa Callaghan, adds further expertise to the panel.

The highly-anticipated Awards event is scheduled to take place on September 23 at the Crowne Plaza in Belfast, where the winners will be announced. It is expected to be an evening of celebration and recognition for the exceptional businesses and individuals who have made impactful contributions to the health and fitness industry in Northern Ireland.

The recognition of these businesses is not only a testament to their hard work, but also to the increasing emphasis on health and fitness within our society.
