Northwest Texas Healthcare System (NWTHS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Annie Mendoza, RN, MSN, FACHE as its new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). With a distinguished career spanning over 25 years, Ms. Mendoza assumes her new role following her tenure as CNO and previously as Chief Quality Officer at Mountainview Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Her appointment represents a significant enhancement of the expertise within NWTHS.

In other notable news, the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) has disclosed its plans to disburse approximately $306 million in final Emergency Relief Program (ERP) payments to eligible commodity and specialty crop producers affected by natural disasters in 2020 and 2021. This initiative is designed to offer vital financial support to those who have suffered agricultural losses.
Moreover, the USDA has introduced the Pay My Loan online repayment option for farm loan borrowers, thereby simplifying the repayment process and providing a convenient and accessible method for making payments. The USDA is currently accepting applications for the Continuous Conservation Reserve Program (Continuous CRP), which provides landowners with the opportunity to engage in conservation initiatives in exchange for annual rental payments. The program aims to promote water quality practices and wildlife conservation efforts throughout Texas.
