London-based start-up Aerovolt has recently bolstered its board of directors with the appointment of François Randin, a leading figure in the electric vehicle charging infrastructure industry from Switzerland. Aerovolt is currently engaged in the ambitious endeavour of establishing the world’s first charging network specifically tailored for electric aircraft, and the addition of Randin to their team exemplifies their dedication to sustainable aviation solutions.
François Randin brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the electric aviation market. Prior to his involvement in electric aviation, Randin founded and served as CEO of two successful electric mobility start-ups, both of which were ultimately acquired by prominent blue chip companies. The first start-up, Green Motion, which Randin established in 2009, was recognized as one of the early influencers in designing and manufacturing charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, and was later acquired by Eaton in 2021. Building on this accomplishment, Randin established evpass in 2018, which rapidly emerged as the largest charging network for electric vehicles in Switzerland before being acquired by Shell five years later.
Philip Kingsley-Dobson, the founder and CEO of Aerovolt, expressed his enthusiasm for the new collaboration, speaking highly of Randin and stating, “François is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the EV industry. He brings to the team his unique 15 years’ experience in our business, his international network, and extensive start-up and entrepreneurship expertise.” The inclusion of someone of Randin’s calibre on the Aerovolt team signifies the company’s determination to have a notable impact in the electric aviation and sustainable transportation sectors.
Although Aerovolt has primarily concentrated on the UK market so far, they have set their sights on international expansion following the completion of their next financing round. With François Randin on board, Aerovolt is poised to make significant strides in their mission to advance sustainable aviation and electric vehicle initiatives on a global scale.
Aerovolt’s collaboration with François Randin serves as a testament to the growing significance of sustainable transportation solutions and the opportunities for innovation in the electric aviation industry. As the demand for electric vehicles and sustainable aviation continues to rise, it is initiatives like Aerovolt’s that will play a crucial role in propelling the industry forward and shaping the future of transportation.
