10th UNESCO-APEID Meeting on Entrepreneurship Education: An Invitation to Participate

The UNESCO-APEID Meeting on Entrepreneurship Education is scheduled to take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 10-11 October 2024, marking the 10th edition of this significant event. Following a pause due to the global pandemic, the 9th meeting in Hangzhou, China garnered considerable success, reigniting interest and passion for entrepreneurship education. The forthcoming 10th gathering aims to build upon this momentum and foster collaboration within the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-Net).

The event will encompass keynote presentations, workshops, and discussions centred on pioneering entrepreneurship education programmes for young individuals, underscoring the importance of instilling an entrepreneurial mindset early in life. Additionally, participants can anticipate the inaugural Gwang-Jo Kim Lecture and the unveiling of a Special Journal on Entrepreneurship Education, dedicated to acknowledging the remarkable contributions of Dr Gwang Jo Kim to the EE-Net.

It is imperative to recognise the critical role of entrepreneurship education for youth, particularly in the face of global adversities such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the escalating impact of artificial intelligence (AI). Consequently, there is an increased urgency to equip young people with the necessary skills, flexibility, and fortitude to flourish in a constantly evolving world.

The objectives of the meeting are unmistakable: to strengthen cooperation within the EE-Net, devise effective strategies for entrepreneurship education for youth, and pay homage to the legacy of Dr Gwang Jo Kim through the launch of the special Journal on Entrepreneurship Education.

Prospective participants are encouraged to submit their presentation proposals on a myriad of pertinent subjects, encompassing proficient government policies, exemplary practices in entrepreneurship education endeavours, and youth-driven startups. The event will serve as a platform for exchanging insights, exemplar practices, and triumph narratives within the domain of entrepreneurship education.

Individuals desiring to partake in this transformative event can formally apply online through the designated link, with the deadline for submissions being 15 April 2024. While international attendees will be responsible for their travel expenses, UNESCO and Alfraganus University will extend assistance by covering accommodation, meals, and local conveyance during the official duration of the meeting.

Moreover, selected participants will have the opportunity to partake in optional cultural excursions to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage and allure of Uzbekistan subsequent to the meeting.
