Xpeng Inc., a distinguished Chinese manufacturer of smart electric vehicles, has formally introduced the Xpeng X9, a large 7-seater MPV, in China. Priced between RMB 359,800 and 419,800, this flagship model is constructed using the next-generation technology architecture SEPA2.0, and guarantees prompt deliveries.
The X9 series unveils a variety of versions designed to meet diverse market demands, all powered by the state-of-the-art SEPA2.0 architecture. The X9 redefines the traditional standards of MPV models, incorporating innovations in design, intelligence, space, handling, and safety. Its distinguishing feature is its capacity to transform from a spacious 7-seater MPV to a comfortable 4-seater SUV with a single click, providing a driving experience like no other.
Xpeng’s CEO and Chairman, He Xiaopeng, has expressed enthusiasm about diversifying Xpeng’s Smart EV portfolio with the X9. The aim is to appeal to primary market needs and promote the adoption of autonomous driving, therefore securing a dominant market share by leading in Smart EV technologies.
The Xpeng X9 stands out in terms of intelligence, being equipped with the company’s full-scenario XNGP ADAS and the next-generation smart in-car operating system, XOS Tianji. XNGP ADAS can handle multiple driving scenarios, while XOS Tianji offers a comprehensive range of smart in-car functionalities, transforming the intelligent cabin for everyday use.
The spacious interior of the Xpeng X9 is designed for both individual and family travel, offering class-leading in-car floor space of 7.7m². The third-row seats can be electrically folded with a single click, expanding the boot space to an impressive 2,554L. Additional features include an in-car refrigerator, family infotainment system display, and zero-gravity reclining sofas, providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all passengers.
The Xpeng X9 also offers superior handling, boasting an active rear-wheel steering system and an intelligent dual-chamber air suspension system, which allows for exceptional maneuverability with a class-leading turning radius of 5.4m.
In terms of charging, the Xpeng X9 is equipped with an 800V high-voltage SiC platform and 3C battery cells, achieving an impressive maximum range of 702 km CLTC with an energy consumption as low as 16.2 kWh per 100 km. The X9’s self-developed 800V XPower powertrain system delivers a maximum power of 370 kW, a peak torque of 640 N·m, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 5.7 seconds.
Safety is also a top priority, with the Xpeng X9 featuring an industry-first front- and rear-integrated aluminum die-casting body structure, along with a 2,000 MPa safety cage and 19 ring-shaped safety designs.
In addition to the X9, Xpeng has unveiled the next-gen Smart EV architecture, SEPA2.0, and achieved a milestone with 11 consecutive months of increasing deliveries, culminating in annual sales of 141,601 units in 2023. Xpeng is also expanding its full-stack ADAS XNGP coverage to a total of 243 cities in China, further advancing intelligent driving technology.
The launch of the Xpeng X9 marks an exciting new chapter for the company, solidifying its position as a leading emerging auto brand in China, and catering to the ever-evolving needs of a diverse market.
