Fleet Space Technologies has recently announced three groundbreaking enhancements to its ExoSphere by Fleet® platform, aimed at revolutionising global mineral exploration by integrating machine learning capabilities and real-time survey diagnostics. This new upgrade is expected to enable faster on-site targeting decisions and provide access to deeper subsurface insights before, during, and after each survey.
By leveraging Fleet Space’s satellite constellation in low Earth orbit and patented seismic array technology, ExoSphere can generate 3D subsurface models of a survey area in a matter of days, with minimal environmental impact. Over 35 global exploration companies, including industry leaders like Rio Tinto, Barrick Gold, and Core Lithium, have already utilised this technology across five continents.
Flavia Tata Nardini, the Co-Founder & CEO of Fleet Space Technologies, emphasised the importance of space technology in driving the next wave of mineral discoveries needed for the energy transition. She views the real-time, machine-learning features introduced in ExoSphere as a significant advancement in the scale and speed of data-driven exploration, while also minimising environmental impact.
Customers using the ExoSphere platform will benefit from a diverse range of subsurface insights with the integration of machine-learning features, tailored to enhance their data-driven exploration efforts.
The newly introduced features in ExoSphere include:
1. Geological Sketch: Customers can now visualise the geology and lithology of their project with this tool, allowing Fleet Space’s team of geophysicists to enhance the 3D model’s accuracy and provide new insights to guide targeting decisions.
2. Basement Depth Map: In the near future, ExoSphere will introduce an ML-enabled feature for projecting basement depth based on customers’ ANT survey results, enhancing their data-driven exploration efforts.
3. Real-Time Diagnostics: On-site teams deploying Fleet Space’s space-enabled seismic sensors (Geodes) now have the capability to review diagnostics on each individual Geode used as part of a survey in real time, allowing quick adjustments without removing them from the survey area.
These new features build upon previous enhancements to ExoSphere such as the Sensitivity Model, Data Processing Report, and Source Data Pack. Additionally, Fleet Space Technologies has been named an industrial affiliate of Stanford University’s Mineral-X program, a leading research organisation focusing on geoscience, resource optimisation, and artificial intelligence for a decarbonised mineral supply chain.
Through this partnership, Fleet Space aims to collaborate with Stanford University’s Mineral-X to advance research and accelerate the clean energy future using space technology. The company now joins Ideon Technologies as an industry affiliate of the program, reinforcing its commitment to driving innovation within the mineral exploration sector.
