TM Group, a prominent provider of property data and technology, has recently made a significant addition to its Executive Leadership Team. The company has announced that Gary Barker, an industry expert with over 20 years of experience in property technology, will be joining as Chief Operating and Technology Officer in April.
In his new role, Barker will be responsible for spearheading a robust technology and innovation strategy for TM Group. With a background in tech transformation roles, including executive and non-executive positions at well-known industry brands such as Countrywide, Connells, Reapit, COHO, Property Circle, and Nurtur, Barker brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table.
Thomas Maerz, CEO of TM Group, expressed his enthusiasm about the strategic hire, highlighting Barker’s knowledge, skills, and experiences that will contribute to the company’s position as an innovative, market-leading technology provider in the Commercial and Residential property sectors.
Barker, in turn, expressed his excitement for the opportunity to drive TM Group’s innovation and digitization strategies within the property sector. He emphasized his belief in the company’s unique position to deliver significant value to the industry by making the process of buying and selling property easier, faster, and more transparent for all parties involved.
His vision for TM Group aligns with the company’s goal of providing the best platforms and services to its customers. This appointment comes following the departure of Matt Joy earlier this year, who played a key role in leading TM Group through the merging of two companies.
TM Group provides solutions that simplify property transactions for the legal and conveyancing sector. The company’s customer base includes legal professionals, mortgage lenders, estate agents, and developers. With over two decades of experience, TM Group has established itself as a trusted tech provider in the industry. Moreover, the acquisition of Conveyancing Data Services (CDS) in 2018 has further strengthened the company’s portfolio.
The recent acquisition of TM Group by European investment firm AURELIUS in July of last year aims to enhance and accelerate property transactions through forward-thinking solutions and to increase the company’s global reach. The appointment of Gary Barker as Chief Operating and Technology Officer signals TM Group’s continued commitment to innovation and excellence in the property technology sector.
