Online Virtual Exercises
To make staying active even more accessible, we are excited to offer a new online exercise video series that you can enjoy from the comfort of your home. These videos require minimal equipment and cater to all ages. However, before participating, it is important to consult your family health practitioner and complete the online physical activity readiness questionnaire, ParQ+ Fitness Assessment, annually to ensure that you are prepared to increase your physical activity level.
Introduction to the Online Exercise Series
Our online exercise series includes a range of exercises such as the Tightrope (Tandem) Walk, Around the Clock Balance, Shoulder Blade Squeeze, Sit to Stand, and Squats. These videos are designed to keep your body moving and promote physical fitness. Please remember to modify the exercises to meet your personal fitness levels and physical limitations, and always prioritise your safety by staying hydrated, wearing proper attire, and taking rest breaks as needed.
Special Notes and Guidelines
For the safety and well-being of all participants, there are certain guidelines and requirements to be aware of. All fitness program participants are required to complete a QR code scan confirming vaccination status prior to each class, and should arrive 5-10 minutes early, dressed to workout, and bring their own water bottle and any other necessary equipment.
Please also note that drop-ins are currently not available in any classes, and pre-registration is required. Additionally, there is a £10 withdrawal fee for registered programs and participants are required to bring a yoga mat to classes involving floor work.
Disclaimer
It is important to note that by performing any exercises shown in our online exercise video series, you are doing so at your own risk. The City of Kamloops and its employees will not be responsible or liable for any injury, loss, or harm resulting from the online exercise videos.
We hope that these fitness and wellness programs will inspire and motivate you to make physical activity a part of your lifestyle. Stay active, stay healthy, and enjoy the benefits of a fit and balanced life with the City of Kamloops.
