The Empowerment of Women in Business: PCJCCI Enters MoU with University of Home Economics

The Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) has taken a significant step in promoting women’s entrepreneurship by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Home Economics in Lahore. This partnership aims to integrate modern technologies and Chinese expertise to empower young women in various sectors such as fashion and interior designing, fine arts, IT, Visual Communication, textile, food, and nutrition.

The signing ceremony, which was held at the PCJCCI Secretariat, was attended by approximately twenty Chinese business women and young entrepreneurs from Pakistan. The event signified the commitment of both organizations in fostering women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship.

Dr Faleeha Kazmi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Home Economics, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration and emphasized the university’s dedication to fostering innovation and excellence. She highlighted the establishment of a Business Incubation Center, which is designed to provide students with modern, skill-based knowledge in entrepreneurship.

Moazzam Ghurki, President of PCJCCI, highlighted the significance of the partnership in tapping into the potential growth of the fashion and interior designing sector in Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of empowering young women and providing them with the necessary skills for success in these fields. Ali Raza Rizvi, Executive Committee Member of PCJCCI, reiterated the MoU’s focus on skill development, women empowerment, and technology up-gradation in the textile sector.

Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General of PCJCCI, outlined the organization’s objective of facilitating connections between Chinese companies and the University of Home Economics to create opportunities for women pursuing degrees in fashion and textile-related fields.

The collaboration between PCJCCI and the University of Home Economics represents a mutual commitment to fostering trade, development, and cultural ties between China and Pakistan. This partnership is expected to contribute to the future stability, security, and prosperity of both nations.
