1. Acquisition of Pax8’s MSP Business in New Zealand – Ian Hassell, a distinguished tech leader in New Zealand, has acquired the assets of Pax8’s MSP business in New Zealand and rebranded it as the Umbrellar Technology Group. Under new leadership, the Umbrellar Technology Group aims to offer IT, cloud, productivity, and cybersecurity solutions to businesses in New Zealand. This acquisition, identified as technology M&A deal number 66, will continue the partnership with Pax8, allowing the Umbrellar Technology Group to harness Pax8’s range of cloud products.
2. UK MSP/MSSP Acquisition – FluidOne’s cyber division, Cyber Security Associates (CSA), has successfully acquired UK-based penetration testing and specialist cyber risk consulting firm, SureCloud Cyber Services.
3. SPAC MSP Deal Details – Noventiq Holdings PLC and Corner Growth Acquisition Corp. have officially filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in connection with their previously announced deal. Noventiq’s filing included impressive financials for the first half of its fiscal year in 2024, revealing significant growth in revenue, gross profit, and adjusted EBITDA.
4. Oracle’s AI Initiative – Oracle recently announced its plans to integrate generative artificial intelligence features across its corporate software lineup, marking a bold move in the competitive AI technology sector.
5. CMC Networks gains B-BBEE Level 1 Status – Johannesburg-based CMC Networks, a global Tier 1 service provider focusing on digital transformation, has received the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Level 1 status in South Africa for the fourth consecutive year, a testament to the company’s commitment to economic transformation and the inclusion of Black individuals in the economy.
6. Security Partnership – TD Synnex, a global distributor and solutions aggregator, has expanded its security offerings across North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean through a new partnership with Splunk, a cybersecurity and observability company.
7. SaaS Data Leakage Dangers – DoControl, the leading SaaS Security solution, recently released the 2024 State of SaaS Data Security Report, revealing concerning findings about the increasing number of SaaS assets generated by companies and the prevalence of employees sharing company data with their personal email.
