On March 16th, Patkai Christian College had the privilege of hosting an engaging entrepreneurship awareness programme in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati and the Department of Management at Nagaland University. The primary objective of this one-day event was to inspire students to explore the world of entrepreneurship and encourage them to consider pursuing their own business ventures.
Dr. Ditalak Mpanme, a highly respected member of the Department of Management at Nagaland University, served as the knowledgeable and experienced resource person for the programme. Throughout the day, Dr. Mpanme imparted valuable insights, guidance, and expertise to the attending students.
The programme was thoughtfully divided into two sessions, each meticulously designed to provide students with a well-rounded and comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship. During the first session, Dr. Ditalak Mpanme emphasized the importance of entrepreneurial pursuits and encouraged students to think creatively and strategically, and to consider the abundance of business opportunities available beyond traditional employment avenues. He also underscored the significance of utilizing locally available resources and shared key qualities required to succeed as an entrepreneur, illustrating his points with relevant and inspiring examples.
The second session of the programme featured an interactive discussion between participating students and Sapulu Krocha, IIE’s State Coordinator. This session provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage with an industry professional, ask questions, and gain unique perspectives on entrepreneurship.
The programme successfully achieved its objective of encouraging students to explore the entrepreneurial world and igniting a sense of entrepreneurial spirit within them. By offering valuable insights, practical advice, and real-world examples, the event not only laid the groundwork for students to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career path, but also empowered them with the knowledge and motivation to pursue their own business ventures.
This initiative was a commendable effort to equip students with the resources and encouragement they need to consider entrepreneurship as a viable and rewarding career path. It is crucial for educational institutions to provide platforms for students to explore various career options and to inspire them to think creatively and ambitiously. The entrepreneurship awareness programme at Patkai Christian College is undoubtedly a step in the right direction towards nurturing a new generation of innovative and proactive young entrepreneurs in Nagaland.
