Crafting Waves: A Beach-Lover’s Journey in Building a Lifestyle Brand

2 min read

Wave Creations, founded by Madison Governale ’26 and her sister Paige Governale ’27, epitomizes the phrase “ride the wave” in a very literal sense. Their mission is to bring the beach lifestyle to a global audience through their unique and captivating products.

Growing up on Long Island, the Governale sisters spent their childhood summers embracing the sun, sand, and surf on the east end of Long Island. The cancellation of their summer jobs due to the pandemic prompted them to revisit their love for drawing, tie-dyeing, and jewelry making, which ultimately led to the birth of Wave Creations in May 2020.

Since its inception, the brand has gained global attention and praise on social media, with over 11,000 followers on Instagram (@shopwavecreations). Their content not only visually appeals, but also resonates with a community of beach lovers and adventure enthusiasts.

Each creation by Wave Creations tells a compelling story close to the hearts of the sisters, with every collection being an ode to their travel experiences or an authentic representation of the beach lifestyle brand. Their rich narratives make the brand universally relatable, irrespective of one’s geographical location.

With ambitions to expand into retail and surf shops, as well as increase brand visibility, the sisters are gearing up for the Start-Up Showcase on April 25. They aim to captivate the audience with their journey and future plans for Wave Creations.

For those eager to witness the inspiring narrative of the Governale sisters and immerse themselves in the world of Wave Creations, the Start-Up Showcase is an event not to be missed. To stay updated on the Fairfield StartUp Showcase, visit Fairfield.edu/startup.
