Revolutionary Technology Takes on the Challenge of Handling Dehydrated Fruit

Zarecki, a prominent company in the dehydrated fruit processing sector, has recently integrated a sophisticated conveyor system designed to handle a diverse range of fruits with delicacy. Established in 2017, Zarecki has been processing over 6,000 metric tons of fresh fruit annually, serving food manufacturers in need of high-quality ingredients for various products such as breakfast cereals, snack bars, and confectioneries.

In order to expand its production capacities, Zarecki sought a solution that could ensure the gentle handling of delicate fruits while also being versatile enough to handle a wide variety of produce. After careful consideration, the company selected Key Technology and their integrated vibratory conveyor system equipped with five Impulse shakers.

Marcin Sosnicki, the managing director at Zarecki, emphasized the importance of product quality when dealing with fragile berries, stating that the highest priority in choosing the shakers was to safeguard the integrity of the fruit. He also highlighted the need for versatility and fast changeover capabilities, given the diverse range of fruits that Zarecki processes, which includes cherries, blueberries, and apples.

Key’s Impulse shakers are designed to cater to processing and packaging lines requiring precise metering and low maintenance drives. They are capable of quick start and stop operations, ultimately enhancing product quality, throughput, and line efficiency. The shakers are equipped with state-of-the-art controls that offer superior production versatility by allowing conveying pan amplitudes to range from 0 to 100%.

The design and implementation process were tailored to fit Zarecki’s requirements, with the Key team providing comprehensive support during the installation and commissioning of the new conveyor system. Running at impressive speeds of up to two metric tons of fruit per hour, the new line at Zarecki is equipped to sweeten cherries, currants, and blueberries before de-syruping and de-juicing them to prepare the fruit for drying.

One notable feature of the integrated conveyor system is its ability to act as a buffer between batch processing and continuous processing at the dryer, ensuring a constant feed of product. The electromagnetic drives of the system enable the operators to easily adjust the speed from the control panel, consequently contributing to a substantial increase in line efficiency. Additionally, the magnetic drives minimize maintenance needs, making the system durable and ideal for continuous use in challenging environments.

Zarecki’s successful integration of Key Technology’s conveyor system signifies a significant leap forward in the processing of delicate dehydrated fruit. By prioritising both product quality and operational efficiency, the company has set a new standard in the industry, solidifying its position as an innovative leader.
