The event, which took place at Colquhoun Square, extended from one day to two, attracting a crowd of food and drink enthusiasts. The primary aim of the festival was to raise funds for the Helensburgh Festive Lighting Charitable Trust, the organization responsible for the exquisite Christmas lights that adorn the square and surrounding streets each winter.
The festival included the regular Helensburgh Market in the Square, as well as a variety of food, drink, craft, and gift vendors. Alongside the stalls, there were street food vans, children’s rides, and cooking demonstrations. The cooking demonstrations were conducted by Rohan Wadke, a chef at Cameron House and a former contestant on TV’s Masterchef: The Professionals. Wadke’s Parsi chicken cutlets and Thai chicken recipes were well-received by attendees.
Despite the December-like weather on the second day, the festival was a resounding success. This has led the Trust to consider incorporating food into their next fundraising event in the summer.
