Excitement builds for Largs’ Inaugural Food and Drink Festival

The anticipation is palpable as Ian Murdoch, the chairman of Largs Events, eagerly looks forward to the town’s inaugural food and drink festival set to take place this coming weekend. With a diverse range of offerings and the promise of good weather, the event is poised for a remarkable debut.

“We encourage local residents to attend, enjoy, and show their support,” stated Ian. “While we have had food festivals in the past, this is the first one organized by Largs Events, and we hope it will become an annual event.”

This exciting festival, hosted by Largs Events and SHS Events, will take place on the weekend of Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2, on the promenade, and is open to all businesses and traders. The festival has already made a significant addition by securing Rohan Wadke, a competitor on Masterchef: The Professionals, to participate in the festivities.

Rohan will conduct free cooking demonstrations, adding to an impressive lineup that includes 40 market stalls, 10 pop-up stalls, and 10 street food stalls. These stalls will offer a variety of culinary delights, from continental foods and packaged goods to street food and off-sales alcohol. Additionally, there will be a selection of craft items, kids’ entertainment, and face painters to complete the weekend’s programme.

Ian expressed his optimism for the future, noting, “There is plenty more in the pipeline. We have the Dogs Day Out event returning this summer, and next year we are hoping to bring a classic car show to town, as well as one more festival which is still under wraps but very exciting.”

In emphasizing the potential economic benefits for the area, Ian highlighted the positive impact that events like this could have in drawing more people to the town and providing a boost to other businesses in the region.

As the excitement continues to build, it is evident that the inaugural food and drink festival in Largs is shaping up to be an eventful and promising occasion.
