European Commission Launches Online Community to Encourage Entrepreneurship Across the Continent

The European Commission has recently launched a new online platform, the Promoting Enterprise Futurium, in partnership with the European SME Week (ESW). This initiative, led by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) and the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), aims to promote and encourage entrepreneurship at various levels across Europe. Whether you are an entrepreneur, a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME), or an individual involved in promoting entrepreneurship, this platform is designed to provide valuable information and resources to support your journey.

Igor Kalinic and André Meyer from the European Commission, who lead this initiative, are urging SMEs and support organizations at all levels to actively participate in the European SME Week not only in 2024 but in the years to come. The primary objective of the new platform is to cultivate an active SME community that promotes innovation and collaboration, ultimately contributing to shaping the future of Europe and addressing current challenges.

The European SME Week is dedicated to the promotion of enterprise on a weekly basis, across Europe. It aims to build on the success of the previous year’s 50+ events held across the continent. The flagship event of the ESW, the SME Assembly, is scheduled to take place from 18th to 20th November 2024 in Budapest, Hungary. This assembly is organized in collaboration with the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The Promoting Enterprise platform on Futurium is the central hub for all things related to European SME Week (ESW), the SME Assembly, and the European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA). The platform’s content is accessible to the public, allowing users to access a wealth of information. To engage with other users and leave comments, individuals can join the community by creating an EU Login account. Creating an EU Login account is a straightforward process that only requires a few simple steps.

This new platform is a significant milestone in the European Commission’s ongoing efforts to support entrepreneurship and SMEs across Europe. By providing a central and easily accessible resource, they are facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the entrepreneurial landscape in the region.
