Exciting Southern Adirondack Wine & Food Festival Happening This Weekend

The upcoming Saturday, the thriving North Main Street in Gloversville is expected to be bustling with thousands of attendees for the highly-anticipated Southern Adirondack Wine & Food Festival.

The festival’s growth has been remarkable, with City Clerk Jenni Mazur expressing great pleasure at the news that this year will see the highest number of vendors participating in every category. There will be an abundance of tasting vendors, food trucks, and goods vendors, promising a larger and more spectacular festival than ever before. In fact, organizers are preparing for an estimated 3,000 guests, double the number from previous years.

Now celebrating its ninth year, this festival is organized by the Gloversville Recreation Commission and aims to bring together local wineries, breweries, and distilleries, allowing attendees to sample their finest products. Moreover, a variety of food trucks and vendors including AJ’s Smokin BBQ, El Cielo, Lynn and Walt’s Walk Up Wagon, and Mac Factor / The Mason Jar will be present to provide a delectable gastronomic experience.

One of the most exciting aspects of the festival is the opportunity to indulge in products from local vendors within the Capital Region, potentially discovering new favorites and hidden gems to visit in the future. Notable participants in this year’s festival include Adirondack Winery, Albany Distilling Company, Bella Brooke Winery, Cooper’s Daughter Spirits, Erie Canal Distillers, Lakeland Winery, Ledge Rock Hill Winery, Mean Max Brew Works, New Scotland Spirits, and Stump City Brewing, among others.

The event will also be accompanied by live music performed by local talents at two different locations throughout the day. Notable acts include The Insolent Willies, North Allen Duo, K & K, Cosby Gibson & Tom Staudle, Kyle Rix, and Brian Delorenzo Bocheneck, promising an entertaining backdrop for the festival.

Mazur shared her pride in the festival’s organic growth over the past eight years, attributing the success to the fantastic reputation of the Gloversville Recreation Commission for organizing exceptional events that have attracted a growing number of participants. She expressed that all of the events hosted by the commission have experienced substantial growth, with the Wine Fest being the most prominent example.

The festival is scheduled to run from 3-8 p.m. on Saturday, with a tasting entry fee of £15. The first 500 tasting entrants will be delighted to receive a wine-tasting glass branded with the event logo. Entry to the event will be from Church Street at the North Main Street intersection. As part of the festival’s arrangements, North Main Street will be closed to traffic from noon to 9 p.m. between Fulton Street and Prospect Avenue/Spring Street.
