A new promotional campaign has cast a spotlight on five of the top food and drink businesses in the South of Scotland. Barony Country Foods, The Globe Inn, Annandale Distillery, The Ethical Dairy, and Kitchen Coos and Ewes are among the eight firms being featured in this exciting project.

Renowned food and drink writer Cat Thomson and photographer Phil Wilkinson have collaborated on this project, with funding from Scotland Food and Drink’s regional food fund and the South of Scotland Destination Alliance (SSDA). The result is a captivating multimedia campaign that will be showcased on SSDA channels, including the Scotland Starts Here website and blog.

People are encouraged to take advantage of the written profiles and high-quality images, which are available free of charge for promoting the region. Chief executive of SSDA, David Hope Jones, expressed his gratitude for the support from the Scotland Food and Drink Partnership, and highlighted the incredible range of experiences offered by these businesses.

The project aims to highlight the unique offerings of the region’s food and drink sector, from chocolate-making classes and Highland Coo safaris to farm tours and historical experiences. By showcasing the excellence of these local businesses, the campaign hopes to inspire people to visit and experience these offerings firsthand.

The initiative has been made possible through the generous support of the Scotland Food and Drink Partnership, demonstrating a shared commitment to celebrating the finest of the region’s food and drink experiences. The South of Scotland is indeed fortunate to have such a fantastic array of businesses, and this campaign is a testament to their dedication to providing unforgettable experiences for both locals and visitors.
