JustTip has been named the winner of the prestigious 2024 Enterprise Ireland Student Entrepreneur Awards, following a distinguished ceremony at University College Cork. The founders of this pioneering fintech firm, Ciara Walsh and James Fahy, students from Technological University Dublin and University of Galway, were crowned as the Student Entrepreneurs of the Year during the event. The esteemed Michael Carey, Chairman of Enterprise Ireland, presented them with the prestigious prize.

Making a significant impact in the industry, JustTip offers a cutting-edge tipping platform that revolutionizes the handling of cashless tipping, allowing for seamless and direct tipping of employees. In addition to providing a cashless solution, it also offers end-to-end transaction reports, ensuring complete transparency for both employees and customers.

JustTip was recognized as one of the top ten finalists at the fiercely competitive 2024 Enterprise Student Entrepreneur Awards, which welcomed budding entrepreneurs from various third-level educational institutions across Ireland. In light of their exceptional achievement, JustTip was awarded a grand prize of €10,000, along with valuable mentorship from Enterprise Ireland to refine their products and explore new opportunities in the market.

Michael Carey, Chairman of Enterprise Ireland, expressed his delight at the remarkable level of talent and entrepreneurial spirit demonstrated by the finalists, highlighting the innovative culture within Ireland’s esteemed third-level institutes. Similarly, Richard Murphy, Manager of the LEO Support, Policy & Co-ordination Unit at Enterprise Ireland, underlined the pivotal role that the competition plays in nurturing the next generation of Irish entrepreneurs, emphasizing the indispensable guidance and support provided by academic institutions.

Several other noteworthy awards were presented during the ceremony, including the Cruickshank High Achieving Merit Award to students from the University of Limerick, the Grant Thornton High Achieving Merit Award to a student from Dublin City University, and the Local Enterprise Office High Achieving Merit Award to students from Dublin City University.
