The National Weather Service (NWS) in Huntsville was recently honored to host a visit from the NWS Office of Science and Technology Integration (OSTI). As the principal office overseeing and coordinating research to operational projects for the NWS, as well as the integration of technology across NWS field offices, OSTI plays a crucial role in advancing the NWS’s capabilities. During the visit, OSTI leadership and management engaged in discussions with NWS Huntsville, focusing on an afternoon session aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of SPoRT, R2O projects, and partnerships within the NWS.
The NWS Office of Science and Technology Integration has expressed a strong appreciation for the invaluable contributions of SPoRT in seamlessly transitioning NASA research to NWS offices. As a result, OSTI is committed to fostering ongoing collaborative discussions and knowledge sharing on R2O/O2R and SPoRT products that have proven to be successfully integrated into NWS operations.
