The Medway Food and Drink Festival was celebrated this past weekend at the Rochester Castle grounds, marking a triumphant return for this eagerly anticipated event. The festival provided a delightful array of culinary experiences, including delectable street food, refreshing summer cocktails, live cooking demonstrations, and captivating live entertainment, offering something for every visitor to enjoy.

Festival-goers were presented with an enticing selection of options from street food stalls, ranging from artisanal baked goods to farm-fresh produce from the local area, and bars serving summer cocktails in inventive fruit bowls. Live cooking demonstrations added an exciting element to the festival, featuring the expertise of renowned professionals such as Maria Bradford, Japanese chef Madoka, and Ian Waghorn, the esteemed founder of a popular healthy catering company.

The festival also catered to music enthusiasts with a diverse range of performances on the outdoor main stage, showcasing talents from classic rock to soulful tunes courtesy of bands such as Big River, the LKG Trio, and Loose Change, setting the perfect tone for the festivities.

Adding to the appeal of the festival, entertainment for children was plentiful, with storytime sessions led by children’s author Suzan Ruben-Alderton, puppet shows, comedy acts, magic shows, and balloon modelling all provided by the varied and talented Froggle Parties. Additionally, face painting stations and fun fairground rides ensured that children had a truly enjoyable time.

The event was notably inclusive, embracing families, friends, and even furry companions, who were seen basking in the sunshine and joyously engaging in the festivities with their dogs. The overall atmosphere was one of pure delight and community spirit.

The Medway Food and Drink Festival, which took place from Friday, June 7, until Sunday, June 9, was undeniably a resounding success. As the festival drew to a close, satisfied attendees were already looking forward to the next edition of this wonderful event, hoping for yet another year of gastronomic delights, delightful drinks, and unforgettable memories at the Medway Food and Drink Festival.
