Recognising the Finest Sub-custodian Banks Worldwide in 2024

2 min read

Global Finance has recently released its selection for the 22nd annual Best Sub-custodian Bank Awards across seven regions and 83 countries, territories, and districts. The forthcoming July/August editions of Global Finance in print and digital formats, as well as GFMag.com, will include a comprehensive report on the selections.

Following a rigorous assessment process that considered market research, expert input, and bank submissions, the editorial board of Global Finance identified the institutions that consistently deliver high-quality services in local markets and regions. The criteria for evaluation encompassed aspects such as customer relations, service quality, competitive pricing, smooth handling of exception items, technology platforms, post-settlement operations, business continuity plans, and familiarity with local regulations and practices. Feedback from users of sub-custody services was also considered in determining the winners. Performance was evaluated over the period spanning January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023.

Joseph Giarraputo, the founder and editorial director of Global Finance, highlighted the challenges faced by the sub-custodian banking sector in adapting to digital transformation and cybersecurity concerns while streamlining services to meet regulatory requirements and client needs. The Best Sub-custodian Bank Awards serve as a testament to the efforts of organisations striving to enhance global coverage and operational efficiency within the industry.
