In an unexpected turn of events, an Edinburgh bakery that gained viral fame on TikTok for its lengthy queues has been celebrated as one of the world’s finest pastry shops at La Liste’s 2024 World Pastry Awards.
Located on Hamilton Place in Stockbridge, Lannan became an overnight sensation following its opening last summer. Local residents flocked to the bakery, forming queues that extended for up to two hours, resulting in the shop selling out of its delectable pastries by 11 am.
The owner, Darcie Maher, expressed her gratitude for the recognition, stating, “Having been open for less than a year, it’s an honour to receive the award from La Liste for best pastry opening of the year.
